We turned a membership perks into FOMO by creating a travel platform where customers could book trips and shop for vacation essentials at the same time as leveraging W+ & advertisers benefits. This simple new experience significantly increased user engagement and advertiser interest, ultimately generating over $25 million in added revenue.


How do you turn a discount into a destination?

We built a shoppable travel ecosystem that connected trip planning directly to retail purchasing. This created a new stage for advertiser storytelling, targeting customers exactly when they were ready to buy. It turned the "need" to travel into a "want" for Walmart+, creating value for every stakeholder involved (including the customer).

Advertisers gained something only Walmart could deliver, a huge audience planning real trips and stocking up on essentials in the same ecosystem.

The experience created genuine FOMO around becoming a Walmart+ member while spotlighting advertiser products and deals, turning the whole thing into a win-win-win for customers, brands, and Walmart+.

Because the whole experience is powered by Expedia, Walmart+ members instantly unlock access to more than 900,000 properties, 500+ airlines, 100+ car rental companies, and thousands of activities worldwide, all from one place they already shop.

Walmart teamed up with Expedia Group to give Walmart+ members real travel perks, not just discounts.
